Amrit is the Director of Wellness and Student Services, encompassing Counseling, Academic Resources, and the Health Clinic. Prior to coming to Wakefield, she was the Program Developer of the Fairfax Leadership and Resiliency Program, an intensive early intervention program designed to enhance individual strength and potential while preventing substance abuse and violence. The Leadership and Resiliency Program achieved Model Program status through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) and has received numerous local and national awards.

Passionate about helping to build a resilient school community, Amrit seeks to foster individual and school-wide strength through interpersonal connections, community partnerships, and opportunities to place students in meaningful positions where they can experience success. To this end, she sponsors activities that partner with local animal shelters, sanctuaries, and faith groups that run wood and food ministries.

A lifelong learner, Amrit is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Counseling through the College of William & Mary. She loves spending time in nature, volunteering with rescued horses, and white-water kayaking.
